Plot synopsis
Melanie Carmichael is a successful fashion designer living in New York City. She gets engaged to Andrew Hennings, the son of Kate Hennings, Mayor of New York. Melanie tells that she is going to Alabama to give the news to her parents. But Melanie has been lying about many things, including her last name, her family background, and has been hiding the fact that she is still married to Jake Perry. After arriving in Alabama, Melanie asks divorce from Jake. For the last seven years, Jake had been returning the divorce papers unsigned. She starts troubling Jake, but then a number of events occur which make Melanie remember how she and Jake love each other. What happens then?

My opinion
Sweet Home Alabama is a very sweet and touching romantic movie. I loved it. I don't understand why many critics didn't like this film. I think Sweet Home Alabama is a very funny film, the characters are funny, the story is touching. Like in other movies, Reese Witherspoon is excellent in this movie as well, so is Patrick Dempsey.
