Plot synopsis
In 1973, a young teenaged girl is murdered by a neighbor. From the ''in-between'', that is neither heaven nor earth, she watches her family, and her murderer, and sees how they are passing their lives. Years pass, her mother leaves her father, and her father is still searching for her murderer...

Achievements
Though receiving mostly mixed reviews, the film was praised for it's acting. Stanley Tucci received a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination, Oscar nomination, BAFTA nomination and a Golden Globe nomination, for Best Supporting Actor. Saoirse Ronan won an IFTA Award and was also nominated for a BAFTA Award.
My Opinion
A sad movie that truly touched me: The Lovely Bones is a very nice movie: it's beautiful, colorful, and truly lovely.
